How I built Shopify Theme Vitals using 11ty and CrUX (new article!) #

In case you missed it, I built a site called Theme Vitals which shows how Shopify themes perform in terms of the Core Web Vitals and other metrics. It was a pretty big undertaking, and I wrote up how I built it using HTTP Archive, the Chrome User Experience Report, BigQuery, Node, and 11ty. Check it out: How I Built Shopify Theme Vitals.

• The Web Vitals Chrome extension was recently deprecated. If you used it for debugging web performance, here's a migration guide for getting the same features out of Dev Tools.

• I just finished reading my first 5-star book of the year (21 books so far): Chain Gang All Stars by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah. I don't want to give anything away, but I highly recommend it.
• I created a new website for my art at sia.studio which also has its own newsletter if you're interested in my art updates. I also created a separate Bluesky account which is basically my Instagram alt - @sia.studio.
• I'm apparently on a "build new websites" kick - I also created offline.sia.codes for all my other random hobbies like cooking, crafting, gardening, and reducing my plastic consumption.
